Raffle Quilt to Benefit Office of Aging

Our guild made a quilt to benefit the St. Lawrence County Office of the Aging. The pattern is Aunt Betty's Attic. Members are busy selling tickets. We had decided to draw the winning ticket on Mother's Day, but since our group meeting will be right before Mother's Day, we'll draw the ticket then. What a great gift!!

The St. Lawrence County (New York) Office for the Aging provides service and advocacy for county residents 60 years and older. Noon meals and Home Delivered Meals are provided to county residents. Other services include Expanded In-Home Services For the Elderly; Family Caregiver Support; Senior Community Service Employment Program; Transportation; Home Repair; Legal Services; Weatherization, Referral and Packaging Program (WRAP); Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program; and the Ombudsman Program. Provides information and application assistance for many entitlement and tax programs.

Quilt Show Committee Meeting

We had a quilt show committee meeting this morning at Clarkson University's Cheel Center where our show will be held. The meeting was well attended.

Our members are busy completing show entries.

We're starting to receive registration forms. Lots of favors have already been made. Great posters were designed by member, Renee Holsen, and are available for distribution. I'm encouraged at the progress being made. Many hands make for a lighter load.

Our group business meeting will be held May 6. We'll schedule work times for members then. Jobs will include registration, hanging of quilts, staging of area, greeters, security, help with boutique, raffle ticket sale table, etc.

Registration Form Update for Members

The registration form did not indicate a limit for entries. My fault entirely!
We'll go with a limit of three (3). If you have more you are interested in showing, please indicate in a note to me and we will consider after we know what we have received.

Call me if you have any questions.

Registration Forms

Show registration forms were distributed at the April meetings and also mailed out with the newsletter. Members - please mail back to me as soon as you can. Deb Darou has offered to type up our program. She will need time to do this.

I've already received four (4) entries from one member. Thanks! We're off to a great start.

It's a cool, rainy day here in the north country. I've been cleaning and doing laundry (if has to be done once in awhile). I hope members are enjoying the day with sewing projects.
