Favors - A Special Gift for Attending Our Show
Let's face it - we all love presents and surprises. A little something from a relative or friend to let us know we're special. Our guild members are busy making special "heart theme" favors for show attendees. I've heard from snow bird members who are enjoying this project. I for one can't wait to see them!

Anyone Out There?
If you are visiting my site, please leave me a comment. It can be anonymous. The Champlain Valley Quilters' Guild of New York has added a link for this blog to their web site. So nice of them. They are an active guild and have quite a bit going on. Be sure to visit their web pages.

Quilt Appraisals
Having a written appraisal on each quilt that you own is the best way to document your quilt collection of antique, newly made traditional-style, and/or art quilts, and record their Insurance Replacement Value. A written appraisal will determine the value for replacement with similar like and kind when shipping your quilt, displaying it in a quilt show, or any other loss or damage.
We are excited to be offering quilt appraisals at our show. Member, Anne Ryan-Ruud, has secured certified appraiser, Genie Barnes. Genie will be available on both Saturday and Sunday. Appointments will need to be scheduled. Anne's phone number is 315-379-9327.
Eugenia (Genie) Barnes has been a quilt maker since the early 1960's. Genie founded the first quilt guild in central New York and has been involved in the development of many other guilds. She has been a professional quilt maker, teacher, and lecturer on the international circuit since 1978.
Genie is one of the first five people certified by AQS as an Appraiser of Quilts/Quilted Textiles. Genie's quilt making is rooted in the tradition of quilting, both in her work and historical base of knowledge. She is noted for her traditional and innovative piece work, for her ability to aid students with problem solving, her hand skills and designs, as well as her sense of humor.
Genie has contributed to a number of publications, both books, and magazines, and has worked on state documentation projects. Genie is active as a teacher/lecturer in all areas of quilts and quilting. She is also a judge and appraiser throughout the United States and abroad.

Fliers and Posters
One of our talented guild members is designing a flier and poster to help publicize our show. I'm soooooo excited! I'm working on a target list to get the news out - newspapers, television stations, radio stations, other guilds, shops, etc.

Our Raffle Quilt
Most shows feature a raffle quilt. Our quilt is called Welcome to My Cabin. It was designed by Nancy Smith and Lynda Milligan of The Great American Quilt Factory - http://greatamericanquilt.com/. Guild member, Chloe Ann O'Neil made our quilt and it was beautifully machine quilted by member Marcia Tiernan. The colors are bright and cheerful. Check out the applique animals, flowers and leaves! The quilting is full of surprises.
Tickets are available from guild members for a donation of $1 each or 6 for $5
